Respiratory Therapist (PRN) – Fixed‑Term

About the role

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is seeking a PRN Respiratory Therapist to join its clinical team on a temporary, fixed‑term basis. This position supports patient care in a fast‑paced hospital environment, providing essential respiratory services to diverse patient populations.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate respiratory care for patients across various clinical settings.
• Administer oxygen therapy, mechanical ventilation, and other respiratory treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor patient response, adjust treatment plans, and document all interventions accurately.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals to ensure coordinated care.
• Maintain equipment hygiene, perform routine checks, and ensure compliance with safety standards.

Required profile

• Current licensure as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of Arkansas.
• Eligibility to work in the United States on the first day of employment.
• Strong clinical judgment and ability to work independently in a high‑stress environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in operating ventilators, CPAP/BiPAP machines, and other respiratory equipment.
• Knowledge of respiratory pharmacology and therapeutic protocols.
