Registered Nurse – Emergency Department

About the role

Presbyterian Espanola Hospital is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join its Emergency Department. You will provide rapid, high‑quality care to patients experiencing medical emergencies, working in a fast‑paced, multidisciplinary environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform triage and assess incoming patients to prioritize care.
• Monitor vital signs and detect early signs of deterioration.
• Provide emergency interventions such as IV access, airway support, fracture immobilization, suturing, and hemorrhage control.
• Administer medications, blood products, and prescribed therapies safely and accurately.
• Conduct lab draws, assist with imaging, and interpret diagnostic results.
• Collaborate with physicians, paramedics, technicians, and other specialists to develop and execute care plans.
• Document patient histories, interventions, and discharge instructions in compliance with legal and hospital standards.
• Communicate clearly with patients and families, offering education and emotional support.
• Maintain infection control standards and ensure department cleanliness.
• Assist with discharge planning, referrals, and coordination of follow‑up care.

Required profile

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher.
• Active RN license in New Mexico (or Compact State).
• Current BLS/ACLS certification.
• Ability to work varied shifts, including nights and weekends.
