QA Tester – Software Quality Assurance for Oil & Gas Apps

About the role

The Quality Assurance Tester will work under the Team Lead to execute and evaluate software tests for the Landmark Drilling suite of applications. The role focuses on ensuring product quality for upstream oil and gas engineering tools.

Key responsibilities

• Provide engineering support for drilling and completions to the DWP team.
• Develop, write, and maintain test cases based on objectives and acceptance criteria.
• Participate in sprint planning to address testing concerns and story sizing.
• Collaborate with subject‑matter experts to define key end‑user workflows and maintain test environments.
• Validate functionality against requirements, verify that changes do not introduce regressions, and track bugs through resolution.

Required profile

• Bachelor or Master degree in petroleum engineering or equivalent with GPA ≥ 7.5.
• Minimum 2 years of QA experience, preferably with oil & gas upstream applications.
• Good understanding of upstream wells engineering concepts and drilling/completion processes.
• Familiarity with engineering applications such as WellCat, Wellplan, or Compass (advantage).
• Basic knowledge of automation framework creation and SDLC/STLC processes.
• ISTQB Foundation level certification is optional.
• Comfortable working in Agile environments and strong communication skills.
