Project Engineer II

About the role

The Project Engineer II will support offshore umbilical design and manufacturing at Oceaneering’s Panama City facility. This role requires broad technical knowledge across mechanical, structural, electrical and ocean engineering and involves close collaboration with internal teams and external partners.

Key responsibilities

• Manage technical aspects of offshore umbilical projects, producing procurement specifications, design reports, assembly procedures and test plans.
• Lead project execution, ensuring timely delivery, quality documentation, and compliance with client expectations.
• Coordinate engineering procedures, design reviews, data archiving and support process‑improvement initiatives.
• Interface with project management, manufacturing, testing technicians and external vendors across multiple Oceaneering sites.
• Provide 24/7 support for manufacturing/testing issues and stay current with industry technologies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Marine or Ocean Engineering.
• 2–5 years of engineering experience, preferably in oil and gas.
• Ability to read and interpret technical specifications, regulations and client requirements.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical presentations and documentation.
• U.S. government‑issued TWIC badge for port access.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Mathcad or similar calculation software.
• Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• CAD skills in AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
