Project Controls Specialist – Cost & Scheduling

About the role

Parsons is seeking a Project Controls Specialist with a strong focus on Cost & Scheduling Management to support multiple projects across Northern and Central California. The role combines schedule development, cost control, earned‑value analysis and collaboration with project and finance teams in a hybrid work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, update and maintain detailed project schedules, primarily using Primavera P6.
• Establish and track cost control baselines and budgets for multi‑phase engineering and construction programs.
• Perform earned‑value, variance and forecasting analyses for both schedule and cost.
• Prepare regular progress reports and dashboards for internal leadership and client stakeholders.
• Collaborate with project managers, discipline leads and finance teams to align scope, schedule and budget.
• Assist with risk identification, mitigation planning and what‑if schedule/cost analyses.
• Support change management by evaluating change orders and their impact on schedule and cost.
• Contribute to claims support and time‑impact analyses as needed.

Required profile

• Extensive hands‑on experience in project controls for large, complex engineering or construction programs.
• Proficiency in Primavera P6; familiarity with additional project‑control tools is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to integrate schedule and cost data for comprehensive performance tracking.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, finance or a related field (or equivalent experience), typically with 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Willingness to travel throughout Northern and Central California and work with geographically dispersed teams.
