Program Manager, Communications

About the role

Anthropic is seeking a senior Program Manager to join its Communications team in San Francisco. You will be the go‑to organizer for high‑stakes initiatives such as product launches, major announcements, and rapid‑response situations, turning complexity into clear, actionable plans.

Key responsibilities

• Run the operating rhythm for major campaigns, including planning, prioritization, status reporting, and retrospectives.
• Translate fast‑changing, ambiguous projects into clear workstreams, owners, timelines, and decision points.
• Serve as a strategic thought partner, surfacing risks, trade‑offs, and driving decisions under pressure.
• Build alignment and drive accountability across cross‑functional partners (Product, Marketing, Policy, Legal, Research, executive teams) without formal authority.
• Anticipate and resolve operational bottlenecks with incomplete information and compressed timelines.
• Design and continuously improve the team’s operating framework, including playbooks, crisis response protocols, escalation paths, and coordination models.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in program management, communications operations, or a closely related discipline.
• Deep understanding of how communications functions work, including campaign building, media moments, and crisis response.
• Proven track record of leading complex, high‑visibility programs under pressure and bringing calm, structure, and momentum to chaotic situations.
• Experience working with high‑growth teams and navigating ambiguous, fast‑moving environments.
