Program Management Specialist – Key Control

About the role

The University of Maryland’s Facilities Management Customer Response Center seeks a Program Management Specialist to oversee key and access‑card control operations. The incumbent will manage issuance, tracking, auditing and documentation of keys and related materials while serving as the primary contact for campus customers and partner units.

Key responsibilities

• Issue, receive, track, audit and document keys, access cards and related materials in compliance with security procedures.
• Act as the operational point of contact for facilities‑related service requests, dispatch, emergency communications, building and alarm monitoring, and incident tracking.
• Maintain accurate records using key‑control systems, AssetWorks, communications equipment and monitoring platforms.
• Support day, evening, overnight, weekend, holiday and emergency operations as assigned.

Required profile

• Minimum two years of experience in scheduling, dispatching, a customer call center, or similar high‑volume service environment.
• Experience with computerized work‑management, dispatch or incident‑management systems and supporting emergency response or building‑systems monitoring.
• Essential employee status – required to work during campus emergencies, weather events and other continuity‑of‑operations situations.
• Valid driver’s license (Maryland Class C preferred) for travel to meetings and project sites.

Required skills

• Proficiency with key‑control systems and AssetWorks.
• Use of office automation software and related manual/automated office equipment.
• Operation of communications equipment and monitoring platforms.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and respond quickly in emergency situations.
