Program Assistant – Youth Services

About the role

The Program Assistant supports the Runaway and Homeless Youth Programs, working up to 20 hours per two‑week pay period, including day, evening, and overnight shifts. This position reports to the Director of RHY and the Program Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Perform duties of an Intervention Specialist or Transitional Living Specialist on scheduled shifts.
• Assist with orientation and training of new staff, interns, and volunteers.
• Maintain health, fire, licensing, nutritional, and medical standards, and oversee building maintenance.
• Manage inventory, purchase, and organization of food, household items, office supplies, clothing, and school supplies, completing purchase orders.
• Oversee building cleanliness, organize donations, and manage agency clothing/hygiene supplies.
• Complete required training hours, timesheets, and attend monthly business meetings.
• Perform any other duties as requested by the supervisor.

Required profile

• Minimum two years of college coursework in a human services field.
• At least two years of work experience in a child‑caring institution.
• Proof of a negative TB test and three professional references.
• Must not be a perpetrator of child abuse/neglect and have no convictions related to harming individuals.
