Program Assistant / Van Driver

About the role

Monarch Basking Ridge is looking for a Program Assistant and Van Driver to implement activities and programs that meet the needs, interests and capabilities of its residents, and to drive them to doctors' appointments, local events and shopping. The role reports to the Director of Programming and covers Independent, Assisted and Memory Care. It is part-time, with a salary range of $19.00-$20.00 per hour.

Key responsibilities

• Help plan and run activities that match residents' needs and interests
• Help create resident histories and profiles with resident and family involvement
• Set up and clean up daily activities
• Help build a monthly social program calendar and share it with staff and residents
• Keep residents engaged between planned activities
• Drive residents to medical appointments, local events and shopping trips

Required profile

• 1-2 years of experience leading activities for the elderly
• High school diploma or higher education preferred
• Clean driving record; transferable skills working with seniors (training provided)
• Willingness to work flexible hours
• Able to lift or carry up to 50 lbs using proper body mechanics

Required skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office (Windows, Outlook, Excel) and the ability to learn new applications
