Product Engineering Lead

About the role

Sesame is building the most human interface for intelligence, creating personal agents like Maya that hold natural conversations. As a Product Engineering Lead you will guide a team of engineers to ship products that millions of users love, while staying hands‑on in prototyping and problem‑solving.

Key responsibilities

• Drive team outcomes and ship high‑impact products, being accountable for results.
• Stay hands‑on: prototype, fix bugs, de‑risk projects, and improve tooling for the team.
• Own the quality bar for products serving millions, covering reliability, security, performance, and polish.
• Manage the full software lifecycle, including deployment, reliability, and production operations.
• Grow engineers through clear feedback, career opportunities, and high performance standards.
• Recruit and build a diverse, talented engineering team.
• Partner closely with product and design to ensure products are delightful and useful.
• Set technical direction for the product stack and make architectural decisions that keep it simple, reliable, and fast.

Required profile

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 5 years leading a team of 5+ engineers.
• Proven track record of delivering complex projects to successful outcomes.
• Full‑stack product engineering expertise with deep knowledge of scalable web infrastructure.
• Experience building distributed systems that serve millions of users and a strong understanding of reliability engineering.
• Strong product sense and the ability to judge what makes a product feel great.
