Procurement Specialist – Mechanical & Process

About the role

SourceBlue, a Turner Construction subsidiary, is seeking a Procurement Specialist focused on mechanical and process equipment for construction projects. The role supports project delivery by managing competitive bid processes, evaluating proposals, and ensuring alignment with project specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Execute SourceBlue’s competitive bid procurement process, including RFQ/RFP development, bid management, analysis, negotiations, and award recommendations.
• Develop and refine scopes of work for procurement packages, ensuring clarity and completeness.
• Receive, analyze, and tabulate supplier proposals; manage bid clarifications, revisions, and Best and Final Offers (BAFOs).
• Evaluate pricing and scope alignment to formulate informed procurement recommendations.
• Identify and escalate scope gaps, construction issues, and technical questions to preconstruction leads.
• Draft Recommendation of Award (ROA) documentation with assumptions, qualifications, and exclusions for review.
• Submit purchase order requests in accordance with approved ROAs and department procedures.
• Participate in project team meetings, coordinate procurement execution, and raise complex issues to the Procurement supervisor.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Building Construction, Supply Chain, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in construction procurement, bid management, or related procurement activities.
• Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and scope development.
• Ability to analyze supplier proposals, conduct negotiations, and prepare award recommendations.
• Excellent communication skills for coordination with project teams and preconstruction leads.
