Procurement Operations Business Partner – R&D

Anthropic is building safe, reliable, and steerable AI systems. The Procurement Operations Business Partner will own the end‑to‑end purchasing process for the research organization and its special programs, ensuring that every request moves smoothly from initiation to a signed agreement and accurate spend reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a high volume of purchase requests, work orders, and change orders each month for research teams and programs.
• Act as the primary procurement partner, guiding requesters from initial request through contract signing and purchase order issuance.
• Review each request for correct vendor records, commercial documents, spend categorisation, service dates, and required approvals.
• Identify required supporting documents (SOW, order form, amendment, security/privacy review, third‑party risk assessment) and route them to the appropriate reviewers.
• Coordinate contract review with Legal, ensure executed agreements align with purchase orders, and keep the process moving efficiently.
• Structure purchase orders to match vendor billing methods and Accounting’s reporting needs.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and ability to ensure accurate coding, dating, receipt, and accrual of purchases.
• Experience handling high‑volume procurement processes in a fast‑moving, research‑oriented environment.
• Ability to work closely with Finance, Legal, and research stakeholders to meet tight timelines.
• Comfort with defining AI‑native procurement workflows and leveraging AI tools in daily operations.
