PRN Patient Service Assistant – PRI Inpatient Units

About the role

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences is seeking a PRN Patient Service Assistant (PSA) to support the PRI Inpatient Units on a temporary, fixed‑term basis. This onsite position provides essential clinical support to ensure smooth patient flow and high‑quality care.

Key responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Maintain accurate patient records and update electronic health systems.
• Provide direct patient support, including answering call lights and transporting patients.
• Ensure compliance with infection control and safety protocols.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to facilitate timely care delivery.

Required profile

• Current eligibility to work in the United States.
• Prior experience in a hospital or clinical setting preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work varied shifts, including nights and weekends.
