About the role
We’re looking for a collaborative and experienced PR & Communications Manager to join the North America Marketing team of International Schools Partnership. Reporting to the Director of Marketing, you will lead regional public‑relations and communications strategy for a network of independent K‑12 schools across the U.S. and Canada. The role is remote with extensive travel to our schools.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement an integrated regional PR and communications strategy aligned with enrollment, reputation and community‑engagement priorities.
- Build and maintain proactive media relationships with regional and national education, local and community outlets; secure placements and manage interview requests.
- Lead regional crisis and issues communications, creating response plans, coordinating stakeholders and advising school heads.
- Craft core messages, press releases, media briefs, talking points, Q&As and executive communications tailored to school audiences.
- Support admissions and enrollment marketing with reputation‑building initiatives, thought‑leadership content and story‑driven campaigns.
- Collaborate with the Head of Online Performance to coordinate social‑media amplification and digital storytelling across the school portfolio.
- Train and coach school heads and senior leaders on media engagement and message discipline.
- Track and report media coverage, sentiment, share of voice and campaign performance, providing actionable insights.
Required profile
- 7+ years of PR/communications experience with a strong track record in media relations, crisis communications and stakeholder engagement.
- Experience managing multi‑site or regional communications initiatives, preferably in education or nonprofit sectors.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, editorial judgment and executive coaching skills.
- Familiarity with media monitoring/analytics tools and digital/social platforms.
- Knowledge of privacy and regulatory considerations affecting schools (FERPA, provincial equivalents).
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or related field.
