About the role
We are seeking a motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to join our laboratory at Saint Louis University and investigate the molecular mechanisms of blood clotting proteins in hemostasis, thrombosis and related cardiovascular disorders. The position offers a collaborative environment with access to state‑of‑the‑art cell and animal facilities.
Key responsibilities
- Design and execute independent experiments using molecular, cellular and biochemical techniques.
- Isolate and culture blood‑derived cells, endothelial cells and other relevant cell types.
- Perform and analyze Western blots, qPCR, ELISA, flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry and coagulation assays.
- Conduct in vivo studies in mice, including tail‑vein injections, blood collection and surgical procedures.
- Prepare abstracts, manuscripts, and contribute to grant proposals.
- Present findings at conferences and internal meetings.
- Maintain detailed laboratory records and ensure compliance with ethical regulations.
- Mentor graduate and undergraduate students.
Required profile
- Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biomedical Sciences or a related field.
- Demonstrated research productivity or strong potential for high‑impact publications.
- Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team.
Required skills
- Mammalian cell culture and transfection.
- Recombinant protein expression and enzyme kinetics.
- Western blotting, quantitative PCR, ELISA.
- Flow cytometry and immunohistochemistry.
- Coagulation and other functional assays.
- Animal handling and surgical techniques in mice.
- Data analysis, scientific writing and presentation.
