Policy Communications Manager

About the role

Anthropic is looking for an experienced Policy Communications Manager to shape external messaging around its security, governance, and responsible scaling initiatives. You will help articulate how Anthropic builds safe AI systems, how it is governed through its Long‑Term Benefit Trust, and how it meets emerging regulatory expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute communications strategies for Anthropic’s AI security, governance, and responsible scaling programs.
• Partner with security, product, legal, governance, and Responsible Scaling Policy teams to craft clear messaging on safe AI model development.
• Lead communications about the company’s governance structure, including the role of independent trustees and public‑benefit corporation obligations.
• Translate evolving regulatory and transparency requirements into credible external communications.
• Balance proactive storytelling about product security updates with thoughtful handling of reactive issues.
• Navigate fast‑moving frontier model capabilities and associated threat surfaces in public narratives.

Required profile

• Proven experience handling complex, sensitive policy and communications issues.
• Strong executive management and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and judgment under pressure.
• Ability to write concisely and distill technical topics for broad audiences.
