Policy Analysis & Resource Mobilization Intern

About the role

This internship supports the Policy, Intergovernmental and Partnerships Section of the United Nations Department of Safety and Security. You will assist in shaping security policies and mobilizing resources to enhance the safety of UN personnel worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Take minutes of Inter‑Agency Security Management Network meetings and produce weekly security briefings.
• Research and respond to queries on security policy issues.
• Develop knowledge products such as summary papers, handbooks, infographics and webinar content for UNSMS personnel.
• Identify and analyse donor trends, update the digital donor database, and support donor‑related meetings and advocacy events.
• Prepare background notes, presentations and follow‑up actions for donor engagements.
• Undertake any additional tasks assigned by the supervising staff.

Required profile

• Current enrollment in a university program related to international relations, security studies, public policy, or a comparable field.
• Strong analytical and research abilities.
• Excellent written communication skills in English.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.
