About the role
The Bureau of Public Health Clinics is seeking a board‑certified Physician to join one of its eight Sexual Health Clinics in New York City. The role focuses on comprehensive sexual health care, including HIV prevention and treatment, STI diagnosis and management, and contraception services.
Key responsibilities
- Act as the clinical content expert for HIV prevention, treatment, and related care.
- Obtain medical and sexual histories, perform physical examinations, and order appropriate laboratory tests.
- Make presumptive diagnoses of STIs and provide evidence‑based treatment.
- Prescribe and manage Post‑Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) and Pre‑Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) for HIV.
- Provide a full range of contraceptive options and vaccinations (Hepatitis A/B, Meningitis, HPV).
- Coordinate referrals, collaborate with PrEP navigators, mental‑health specialists, and HIV case managers.
- Participate in the telemedicine hotline on a rotating basis.
- Adhere to bureau productivity standards and other duties assigned by senior medical leadership.
Required profile
- Medical degree and board certification in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Infectious Diseases.
- Experience in sexual health, HIV care, and STI management.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced public‑sector environment and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
