The Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at Ochsner Children’s Hospital is seeking a board‑eligible or board‑certified pediatric gastroenterologist to join its expanding multi‑specialty practice in Lafayette, LA. The position is fully integrated with New Orleans‑based subspecialty divisions and supported locally by a Pediatric Emergency Department, an inpatient pediatric unit and Endoscopy services at Ochsner Lafayette General Hospital. Ochsner Children’s encompasses more than 85 primary‑care pediatricians and over 290 subspecialists across 27 locations in Louisiana and Mississippi, serving as the region’s leader in complex pediatric care—including congenital heart surgery, liver and bone‑marrow transplantation, hematology‑oncology, advanced GI and hepatology, and comprehensive surgical subspecialties. Facilities feature a 67‑bed Level IV NICU, 14‑bed PICU, 12‑bed CVICU, a 4‑bed NAEC‑accredited Level IV Pediatric EMU, and a 44‑bed Pediatric Acute Care Unit with a dedicated ED, plus a 24/7 neonatal and pediatric transport team. Ochsner is constructing a new five‑story Children’s Hospital slated to open in late 2027/early 2028. The academic environment includes an ACGME‑accredited pediatric residency, teaching collaborations with Tulane University and the University of Queensland, and faculty who publish extensively and lead multi‑center studies.
