PCU‑Certified Nursing Assistant – Per Diem Days

About the role

Under the general supervision of the Clinical Director and the Registered Nurse, the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Support Staff provides direct patient care across multiple units, including Med/Surg, Pediatrics, ICU, Observation, ER, Home Health and Hospice. The role is per‑diem, focusing on daily living assistance, safety monitoring, and supporting the plan of care while contributing to patient safety and experience.

Key responsibilities

• Attend to daily living and safety needs of assigned patients, including hygiene, mobility, and comfort.
• Obtain and record vital signs, heights, weights, intake and output as required.
• Provide continuous visual and proximal monitoring, including video monitor oversight when assigned.
• Assist RN staff with patient transport, documentation, and bedside shift reports.
• Maintain a safe, tidy patient environment and ensure necessary supplies are within reach.
• Report changes in patient condition, out‑of‑range values, or concerns to nursing staff promptly.
• Follow infection‑control procedures and maintain patient and staff confidentiality.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; CNA certification and current BLS certification required.
• Valid Arizona driver’s license (21+ years) and clean driving record for Home Health/Hospice travel.
• Level‑one fingerprint clearance card required within 20 days of hire for Home Health and Hospice.
• Ability to lift and assist patients up to 300 lb and stand, bend, kneel, or walk for extended periods.

Required skills

• Operating video monitor equipment, including audio components and patient‑monitoring functions.
• Proficient use of office equipment such as phone, computer, fax, printers, copier, and scanner.
