Job description

The Patient Access Representative is responsible for providing administrative and front-office support in a healthcare environment. The successful candidate will serve as one of the first points of contact for patients, assisting with registration, appointment coordination, insurance verification and payment processing.

Responsibilities include:

Welcoming patients and assisting with registration and check-in procedures.
Collecting and verifying patient demographic and insurance information.
Answering incoming calls and responding to patient inquiries.
Entering and updating patient information in computer systems.
Verifying insurance eligibility, coverage and benefits.
Processing referrals, pre-authorizations and related documentation.
Collecting patient copayments and outstanding balances.
Coordinating appointments and communicating with healthcare providers.
Maintaining accurate patient records and handling sensitive information appropriately.
Providing courteous assistance to patients and their families.
