Packaging Engineer

About the role

The Packaging Engineer will support the Jacksonville brewery by continuously improving packaging line equipment and associated systems. This role partners with Packaging, Maintenance, Engineering and Operations teams to boost equipment uptime, line performance and maintenance cost efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Lead improvements in controls system performance and resolve issues promptly.
• Develop, document and implement process improvements to increase line efficiency.
• Lead capital projects, equipment upgrades and lifecycle planning, including business case development.
• Guide technology staff, contractors and vendors to meet standards.
• Support KPI achievement for equipment reliability, line efficiency and maintenance performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial Engineering or a related technical discipline (preferred).
• 5+ years of engineering or maintenance experience in high‑speed manufacturing, packaging, food & beverage or similar production environments.
• Experience coaching and developing skilled trades in a unionized manufacturing setting (preferred).

Required skills

• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, electrical controls, PLCs and automation.
• Predictive maintenance technologies and root‑cause analysis.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CMMS platforms.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, TPM and Six Sigma methodologies.
