About the role

The California Correctional Institution in Tehachapi seeks a qualified Nurse Instructor to support the department’s mission of enhancing public safety through education, treatment, and rehabilitative programs for the incarcerated population.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver nursing education and training to correctional health staff in alignment with the institution’s rehabilitative goals.
• Participate in the development and implementation of health‑care curricula that promote drug‑free, healthy, and employable outcomes for inmates.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure a safe and humane environment for both staff and the incarcerated population.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with appropriate licensure to practice in California.
• Experience in teaching, training, or instructional roles within a health‑care setting.
• Commitment to the values of safety, wellness, and human dignity as outlined by CDCR and CCHCS.
