Neurology/Epilepsy Physician

About the role

The Staff Physician will join Ochsner Health’s Neurology department to provide expert care for patients with neurological disorders and epilepsy. Working collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team, the physician will uphold Ochsner’s core values of Patients First, Integrity, Compassion, Inclusivity, Teamwork, and Excellence while delivering high‑quality clinical services.

Key responsibilities

• Examine patients, establish diagnoses, and prescribe appropriate medications and treatment regimens.
• Develop and coordinate individualized care plans in partnership with nurses, therapists, and other specialists.
• Document patient encounters promptly and accurately in the Electronic Health Record system.
• Order additional diagnostic evaluations and make referrals as needed.
• Ensure precise coding of all patient visits to support billing and compliance.
• Adhere to all hospital policies, credentialing standards, and regulatory requirements, including Medicare, Medicaid, and state licensure.

Required profile

• Board certified or eligible for certification in Neurology (or related primary specialty).
• Licensed MD or DO with active practice privileges.
• Commitment to professional standards, teamwork, and continuous learning.
