Middle School Art Teacher (Grades 6-8)

About the role

The Middle School Art Teacher will lead visual‑arts instruction for grades 6‑8 at West and East Middle Schools. The position focuses on delivering high‑quality art education to a diverse student body while fostering a supportive and collaborative learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver engaging art curricula aligned with state standards for grades 6‑8.
• Implement differentiated instructional strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners.
• Maintain strong classroom management and a positive learning atmosphere.
• Build constructive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
• Utilize technology to support communication, academic tracking, and student progress monitoring.

Required profile

• Valid Minnesota teaching license in middle‑school art.
• Experience with multiple instructional designs and differentiated teaching methods.
• Demonstrated ability to manage classrooms effectively.
• Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration with students, families, and colleagues.
• Experience teaching visual arts to 6th, 7th, and 8th graders.
