Memory Care Activity Coordinator

About the role

Brandywine Mahwah by Monarch Communities is hiring a full-time Memory Care Activity Coordinator in Mahwah, NJ. The coordinator develops and runs a resident engagement and activity program for the Memory Care neighborhood, meeting the needs, interests and capabilities of the residents. Pay is $19.50-$20.50 per hour, depending on experience.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop recreation and activity programs with the help of the Activity Director
• Create resident histories and profiles with family involvement, summarise them and use them to plan activities
• Schedule and coordinate social programs such as education, entertainment, special events, games, group programs and spiritual services
• Prepare and distribute a monthly social program calendar to staff and residents
• Coordinate with other departments and seek partnerships with local organisations
• Help organise volunteer training and orientation, drive the community vehicle for resident outings and attend in-service training
• Ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations and community policies

Required profile

• 1-3 years of experience leading or creating activities for the elderly preferred
• Experience with dementia and Alzheimer's preferred
• High school diploma or higher preferred
• Flexible schedule, including at least one weekend day per week

Required skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Strong time management and organisational skills
• Independent decision-making
• Computer skills, Microsoft Office (Windows, Outlook, Excel)
