Medical Laboratory Scientist I – Microbiology (PRN)

About the role

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist I specialized in Microbiology on a PRN (as‑needed) basis. This temporary, fixed‑term position supports the clinical laboratory by performing microbiology testing to aid patient diagnosis and treatment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform microbiology analyses on patient specimens, including cultures and susceptibility testing.
• Interpret and report results accurately and promptly.
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment according to SOPs.
• Ensure compliance with quality control, safety, and regulatory standards.
• Document procedures and results in the laboratory information system.

Required profile

• Eligible for Medical Laboratory Scientist I licensure or certification.
• Experience in clinical microbiology testing.
• Ability to work flexible PRN shifts.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.
