Medical Laboratory Scientist I – Hematology Night Shift

About the role

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist I to join its Hematology laboratory on the night shift. This full‑time, regular position supports patient care by delivering accurate hematology test results during overnight hours.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine and STAT hematology analyses on patient specimens.
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain hematology analyzers and related laboratory equipment.
• Ensure compliance with quality control, safety, and regulatory standards.
• Document and communicate test results promptly to clinical staff.
• Participate in troubleshooting and corrective actions for instrument performance.
• Collaborate with the laboratory team to maintain efficient workflow during night hours.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science or a related field.
• ASCP or equivalent certification preferred.
• Eligibility to work in the United States on the first day of employment.
• Willingness to work night shift hours.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
