Medical Assistant PRN – IMSL Float Pool (Outpatient Clinics)

About the role

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences is seeking a PRN Medical Assistant to join the IMSL Float Pool supporting outpatient clinics Monday through Friday. This is a day‑shift, temporary position that provides flexible coverage across multiple clinic locations.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care and assistance in outpatient clinic settings.
• Perform routine clinical tasks such as taking vitals, preparing patients for exams, and documenting encounters.
• Support nursing and provider teams by handling specimen collection, medication administration, and basic wound care.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment in compliance with infection‑control standards.

Required profile

• Current or former University of Arkansas System employee or student with eligibility to work in the United States.
• Ability to work day shifts in an outpatient clinic environment.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative attitude.

Required skills

• Basic clinical procedures (e.g., vital signs, specimen collection).
• Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) documentation.
