Material Handler

About the role

The Material Handler ensures safe and efficient movement of raw materials, ingredients, and packaging supplies throughout Oceanspray’s processing plant in Tomah. This role supports production lines by loading, unloading, stocking, and maintaining material flow while following strict food‑quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Load and unload trailers using a sit‑down forklift and pallet jacks while wearing required PPE.
• Follow truck security seal procedures for inbound, outbound, and staged trailers to meet Food Quality and security regulations.
• Supply processing areas with sugar, ingredients, cardboard, labels, and other materials as needed.
• Keep the automated palletizer and pallet wrapper stocked and monitor their operation.
• Operate forklift to retrieve and place material in storage racks.
• Use Warehouse Management System (WMS) and/or ERP systems to accurately process inbound and outbound shipments.
• Maintain accurate record keeping, data entry, and documentation in compliance with GMP and sanitation SOPs.

Required profile

• Commitment to follow all safety guidelines, PPE requirements, and food‑safety procedures.
• Ability to follow truck security seal and documentation processes.
• Attention to detail for accurate record keeping and data entry.

Required skills

• Sit‑down forklift operation.
• Pallet jack operation.
• Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
• Experience using ERP software for shipment processing.
