Manager, Security Engineering

About the role

Cohere is a security‑first enterprise AI company seeking a Manager of Security Engineering to lead its application security initiatives. You will act as a trusted advisor, shape the long‑term security vision, and partner with product and engineering teams to protect cutting‑edge AI platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and run enterprise‑wide vulnerability management processes, tooling, and reporting.
• Establish and integrate SAST and DAST programs into CI/CD pipelines, analyzing results to remediate code flaws.
• Lead internal and external penetration testing, including web, API, network, and AI platform assessments, and manage the bug bounty program.
• Collaborate with development teams on security architecture reviews and embed secure SDLC practices.
• Build, coach, and grow a high‑performing security engineering team.
• Define security metrics, produce regular leadership reports, and ensure compliance with standards such as OWASP Top 10 for LLMs and ISO 27001.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in application security or security engineering.
• Proven track record with vulnerability management, SDLC integration, and bug bounty programs.
• Strong communication skills and ability to influence both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Comfort with ambiguity and making informed decisions with limited data.
• Experience building and managing high‑performing security teams.
