Manager, Infrastructure Capex Accounting

About the role

Anthropic is looking for a Manager, Infrastructure Capex Accounting to lead the accounting of its AI infrastructure assets, including GPUs, networking equipment, and data center build‑outs. This role sits at the intersection of finance, data‑center operations, and legal, ensuring accurate financial reporting as the company scales its $50bn investment in computing infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end accounting for AI infrastructure capex and fixed‑asset portfolio, including monthly close, CIP tracking, reconciliations, roll‑forwards, and variance analysis.
• Apply ASC 360 expertise to complex infrastructure arrangements (capitalization, useful lives, impairment, disposals, and asset retirement obligations).
• Partner with Data Center Operations, Legal, and Finance during contract negotiations to clarify accounting implications.
• Serve as a finance partner to non‑finance stakeholders, translating financial impacts into actionable insights.
• Improve upstream data pipelines for asset receipt, deployment, and in‑service dates.
• Design and scale processes, controls, and systems to support a rapidly growing fixed‑asset base.
• Mentor junior accounting staff and act as primary liaison with external auditors on capex matters.
• Drive automation and process improvements, leveraging AI tools to enhance reporting efficiency.

Required profile

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in technology or infrastructure environments.
• Strong knowledge of ASC 360 and fixed‑asset accounting principles.
• Proven ability to work cross‑functionally with operations, legal, and finance teams.
• Experience guiding external auditors and mentoring junior accountants.
