About the role
The Manager, Global Insurance & Risk Management supports the Sr. Director in delivering insurance program oversight and risk mitigation across Applied Materials' worldwide operations. The role collaborates with finance, legal, EH&S, procurement, HR, real estate, logistics and security teams to protect assets and control total cost of risk.
Key responsibilities
- Manage global insurance programs including property, stock throughput, construction and crime coverage, and coordinate third‑party vendors.
- Lead property risk engineering activities, conduct site visits, implement loss‑control recommendations, and develop engineering standards.
- Assist with contract reviews, provide training on insurance and risk topics, and support acquisition/divestiture risk assessments.
- Oversee claims management, working with litigation counsel, consultants and TPAs to achieve efficient resolutions.
- Collect underwriting data, prepare renewal submissions, and support annual insurance budgeting and reporting.
Required profile
- Undergraduate degree or higher in finance, insurance, risk management or a related field.
- Minimum ten years of progressive experience in risk management, insurance brokerage or related disciplines.
- CPCU and/or ARM designation preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to balance competing priorities and deliver high‑quality work under tight deadlines.
Required skills
- In‑depth knowledge of property and casualty insurance and risk engineering concepts.
- Experience managing insurance programs, claims, and vendor relationships.
- Proficiency in underwriting data collection, analysis and budget preparation.
- Ability to collaborate across multiple functional teams and influence risk‑mitigation decisions.
