Maintenance Technician – Student Living

About the role

Greystar is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support The Local Downtown student living community. The role ensures that buildings, grounds, amenities and common areas meet Greystar’s standards for safety, appearance and functionality.

Key responsibilities

• Complete work orders from resident requests and perform preventative maintenance, diagnosing issues and repairing in line with policies, safety standards and code requirements.
• Execute the “make‑ready” process for vacant apartments, including inspections, punch‑list creation, vendor coordination, supply procurement, maintenance tasks and final inspections.
• Manage inventory of tools, supplies and equipment, track usage, return unused items and notify supervisors of re‑order needs.
• Document service requests accurately and promptly for proper tracking.
• Assist with grounds and common‑area upkeep, such as trash removal, pressure‑washing, general cleaning and painting of curbs and signage.
• Support cost‑control initiatives by repairing rather than replacing parts when feasible and using materials efficiently.

Required profile

• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and resolve building‑related issues.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow safety and risk‑management procedures.
• Good organizational skills for tracking work orders, inventory and documentation.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with vendors and contractors as needed.
