Maintenance Mechanic – Night Shift

About the role

Saputo is seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join its night‑shift team (6:00 PM – 6:00 AM). You will be responsible for keeping plant and process equipment running smoothly, diagnosing faults, and performing repairs across mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair pumps, motors, gearboxes, valves, and related equipment.
• Service hydraulic and pneumatic components and troubleshoot flow controls.
• Maintain and troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and instrumentation such as level sensors, RTDs, and photo‑eyes.
• Use a CMMS to process work orders, preventive maintenance tasks, and parts inventory.
• Operate forklifts, aerial platforms, and perform required preventive maintenance.
• Perform welding (wire‑feed, stick, TIG), machining (mill, lathe), and stainless‑steel polishing to 3A standards.
• Conduct electrical troubleshooting, replace fuses, relays, transformers, and wiring.
• Start, stop, adjust, and maintain the ammonia refrigeration system.
• Repair HVAC, door systems, plumbing, steam‑system components, and operate boilers during weekend/holiday rotations.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and collaborate with co‑workers and supervisors to resolve issues.
