Machine Learning Scientist

About the role

As a Machine Learning Scientist at tacit, you will create advanced AI models that decode complex multimodal data from custom sensing hardware. You will work at the intersection of deep learning research and real‑time product development, collaborating with hardware engineers, neuroscientists, and product teams to bring innovative human‑computer interaction solutions to market.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement state‑of‑the‑art machine learning algorithms for multimodal biosignals, including time‑series, spatial, and spectral data.
• Build and optimise neural network architectures for real‑time inference on custom edge hardware.
• Develop multimodal learning techniques to fuse information from multiple sensor modalities.
• Rapidly prototype and iterate models, creating a robust evaluation framework for benchmarking across datasets and participants.
• Collaborate closely with hardware engineers, neuroscientists, and product teams to align models with user needs.

Required profile

• PhD in computer science, machine learning, computational neuroscience, or equivalent industry experience.
• Proven track record of publishing or deploying machine learning models in real‑world systems.
• Independent work ethic, flexibility, and resourcefulness in a fast‑moving startup environment.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
