About the role
We are seeking an experienced Learning & Development Consultant to lead onsite technical training initiatives for telecom and data‑center environments in Indianapolis. This long‑term contract role focuses on delivering high‑volume adult learning, supporting learner success, and partnering with stakeholders to enhance workforce readiness.
Key responsibilities
- Lead onsite technical training sessions using established curricula and hands‑on exercises to build job‑ready skills.
- Guide onboarding and ongoing learning activities while reinforcing safety, professionalism, and performance standards.
- Assess learner progress through tests, coaching, and targeted follow‑up to close knowledge gaps.
- Collaborate with trainers, subject‑matter experts, managers, and client stakeholders to identify development needs and ensure successful program execution.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, performance, completions, and other training metrics for reporting.
- Review and update existing course content and contribute to new instructional material creation.
- Organize training schedules, enrollment, classroom readiness, and equipment availability.
- Prepare and maintain training spaces, including room setup and material readiness.
- Mentor associate trainers, sharing best practices and elevating instructional quality.
- Stay current on infrastructure tools, cabling practices, and industry developments; travel as needed to support training.
Required profile
- 6‑9 years of hands‑on experience in structured cabling installation; fiber experience strongly preferred.
- Background in telecom, data‑center, or closely related technical environments.
- Proven ability to teach adult learners effectively.
- Industry certifications in telecommunications are preferred.
- Strong communication skills with employees, leadership, and cross‑functional stakeholders.
- Excellent organizational abilities to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in an onsite setting.
