Laboratory Technician I

About the role

We are seeking a Laboratory Technician I to join our Geismar, LA site. The role focuses on quality assurance testing of raw materials, intermediates, in‑process samples and finished goods, supporting continuous improvement of lab and plant processes.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze raw materials, intermediate and finished products against established specifications.
• Generate quality and statistical data to aid process control and product improvement.
• Maintain, calibrate and verify laboratory equipment, ensuring proper operation.
• Use software tools (Lotus Notes, LabWare, SAP, Microsoft Office) for data evaluation and reporting.
• Collaborate with the Lab Supervisor and production personnel to propose innovative process improvements.

Required profile

• Associate degree (2‑year) in Chemistry or a related technical field (preferred).
• 0‑2 years of experience in a chemical manufacturing laboratory environment.
• Basic understanding of general chemistry and laboratory instrumentation.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and self‑motivate learning.
