About the role

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is seeking a Lab Support Technician I to join its Lab Support Services team. This full‑time, day‑shift position provides essential assistance to clinical and research laboratories, ensuring smooth operations and high‑quality sample handling.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, process, and store laboratory specimens according to standard operating procedures.
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment, reporting any issues to senior staff.
• Assist with inventory management, including ordering and restocking supplies.
• Support laboratory staff with routine tasks such as cleaning workspaces, disposing of waste, and documenting activities.
• Follow safety and compliance guidelines to uphold a secure lab environment.

Required profile

• Legal authorization to work in the United States.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written procedures.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with lab personnel.
