Lab Robotics Engineer

About the role

Plasmidsaurus is seeking a Lab Robotics Engineer to lead the automation of its sample‑processing pipeline across a global network of laboratories. You will design, develop, and maintain robotic systems that accelerate genomics research and enable faster scientific breakthroughs.

Key responsibilities

• Write production‑grade Python code to control robotic platforms and integrate with diverse laboratory instruments.
• Design and build robotic systems using hardware such as Raspberry Pi, Arduino, and custom electronic/mechanical components.
• Collaborate with scientists to translate new lab protocols into scalable, automated workflows.
• Deploy, monitor, and manage a fleet of robots in multiple field locations, proactively addressing performance issues.
• Implement orchestration tools to distribute software updates across devices worldwide.

Required profile

• BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, Biology, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of professional Python development (experience with Flask/Django a plus).
• Hands‑on laboratory experience with molecular biology protocols.
• Demonstrated ability to lead projects from concept through production independently.
