Java Backend Developer

About the role

As a Java Backend Developer at CGI, you will design, develop, and integrate solutions that address business and technical requirements across healthcare applications. You will work in a hybrid environment from any CGI US office, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality services.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute test protocols, review results, and ensure application quality.
• Design, build, and integrate APIs and database services.
• Create solutions using Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) patterns, API‑enabled gateways, security, and multi‑cloud services.
• Implement RESTful microservices with Spring Boot and NodeJS.
• Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration, and deployment processes.

Required profile

• 6+ years of software development experience with Java and Spring Boot.
• 4+ years building RESTful microservices using Spring Boot and NodeJS.
• 2+ years working with Amazon AWS cloud services.
• Strong knowledge of JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, TypeScript, and ES6.
• Hands‑on experience with API integration, Kafka, Apache Spark, and MonoRepo environments.
• Proficiency with Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins, CI/CD pipelines, and Maven.
• Proven ability to lead projects, work on large‑scale applications, and collaborate in a team.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science preferred.
