Intermediate Designer

About the role

S9 Architecture is looking for an Intermediate Designer to help shape and advance architectural ideas across a wide range of project types and scales. The role sits in an open, dialogue‑driven studio where design is a collaborative conversation and mentorship is a core value.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design exploration for multiple scales, including massing, urban response, spatial organization, narrative development, and detailing.
• Guide several projects alongside junior designers while collaborating closely with Design Principals and technical teams.
• Coordinate with the team to ensure design intent is carried through from concept to development.
• Mentor junior designers through critique, guidance, and example.
• Participate actively in studio pin‑ups, reviews, and ongoing design dialogue.
• Contribute to a studio culture that values design excellence, clear communication, and realistic project planning.

Required profile

• 5–10 years of architectural design experience.
• Design‑driven mindset with strong judgment and conceptual rigor.
• Deep interest in architecture as a contextual, collaborative, and iterative practice.
• Ability to mentor and support junior team members.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
