Instrumentation & Controls Engineering Consultant – Nuclear

About the role

This position offers the opportunity to work on upgrading and modernizing nuclear power plants with the latest control technologies, leading and supporting both small and large controls projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop digital systems design (PLC, DCS, HSI, networked computer systems) and prepare functional and implementation requirements for nuclear plant control systems.
• Lead and support controls projects, coordinating with mechanical, electrical, and structural disciplines.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve a wide variety of controls engineering issues, and prepare technical reports, calculations, and studies.
• Manage resources, develop estimates, support proposal development, and evaluate vendor bids.
• Interface with clients and vendors, review documentation, ensure equipment compliance, and witness FAT performance.

Required profile

• BS or MS in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or Nuclear Engineering from an ABET‑accredited program.
• 10+ years of I&C design engineering experience, with at least 5 years in a nuclear facility.
• PE license preferred and bilingual in Spanish and English.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
