Instructional Training Specialist

About the role

Our client, a large K-12 education organization, is looking for an Instructional Training Specialist to lead the implementation, training, and adoption of Canvas LMS and related Instructure products across the district. The role blends instructional design, technology integration, and adult learning expertise to support teachers, staff, and administrators.

Key responsibilities

• Support implementation and optimization of Canvas LMS, Canvas Catalog, Canvas Credentials/Parchment, Canvas Studio, Canvas Impact, and Mastery Connect.
• Design and develop instructional courses, training materials, and district learning resources.
• Deliver virtual, in‑person, and self‑paced training sessions for educators and administrators.
• Create user guides, FAQs, job aids, and comprehensive training documentation.
• Partner with curriculum, instructional, and IT teams to align LMS adoption with district goals.
• Promote best practices in instructional design, accessibility, and Universal Design for Learning (UDL).
• Support course template governance, quality reviews, and change‑management initiatives.
• Analyze usage and engagement data to drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Experience supporting or implementing LMS platforms in K‑12 or education settings.
• Strong background with Canvas LMS and instructional technologies.
• Proven ability to facilitate training and professional learning for educators.
• Knowledge of instructional design, digital learning strategies, and adult learning principles.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
