Inside Sales – Instrumentation Products

About the role

Carotek, a SunSource company, is seeking an energetic, self‑driven individual to join its Instrumentation Inside Sales team. The role focuses on providing technical customer service and supporting the outside sales staff for process equipment solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Providing outstanding service to customers and support to outside sales staff
• Answering telephone calls or responding to customer correspondence regarding technical questions on products or systems
• Engaging in technical discussions to identify correct products and advising on substitutions or modifications
• Selecting and specifying products based on customer applications and design prerequisites
• Collaborating with service technicians, managers, or manufacturers to resolve complex technical problems
• Preparing detailed product quotations, including price, discount, and shipping charges
• Communicating pricing, back‑orders, delivery status, and tracking information to customers
• Obtaining purchase order numbers or credit‑card information from customers
• Working with Accounting to resolve invoicing or credit discrepancies
• Attending sales meetings and educational activities to stay current on product developments

Required profile

• Associate’s Degree (Bachelor’s preferred) in Business or Engineering, or three+ years of inside sales experience in the industrial fluid process industry
• Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of electrical, pneumatics, mechanical assemblies, gauges, valves, instrumentation, and steam traps
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, electrical schematics, and technical procedures
• Proficiency in calculating discounts, commissions, proportions, percentages, and converting measurements to metric
