Inpatient Occupational Therapist (PRN) – Orthopedics

About the role

Ochsner Health is seeking a PRN Inpatient Occupational Therapist to join the Orthopedic unit. You will evaluate patients, develop and deliver therapy programs based on physician orders, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe transitions to post‑acute or home care.

Key responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive evaluations and create individualized treatment plans to meet patient‑specific goals.
• Monitor patient response, adjust treatment plans as needed, and document outcomes.
• Maintain accurate patient records in accordance with documentation standards and hospital policies.
• Ensure treatment protocols align with hospital quality and safety targets.
• Adapt communication and care approaches to respect patient privacy and cultural preferences.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy.
• Current occupational therapy license in the state of practice, or eligibility for licensure by examination/reciprocity.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Proficiency with computers, software, and web‑based applications.
• Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and organizational abilities.
