Infrastructure Engineer – Edge GPU Compute

About the role

Montauk Capital’s Stealth Edge AI venture is building a city‑wide edge AI platform that delivers low‑latency inference across distributed GPU nodes. As an Infrastructure Engineer you will design, implement, and scale the hardware and networking foundation that powers this platform.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deploy GPU infrastructure from planning through production rollout.
• Select, configure, and install hardware for early compute sites.
• Translate technical groundwork into a fully operational edge compute system.
• Develop and maintain the GPU roadmap to attract customers and partners.
• Deploy, operate, and tune GPU clusters on bare‑metal and internal software stacks.
• Implement resilient networking and out‑of‑band monitoring for each site.
• Manage large‑scale production deployments and coordinate with site operations on power, cooling, and connectivity.
• Build automation and monitoring tools for distributed edge nodes.
• Own the supply‑chain process for all infrastructure equipment and manage third‑party vendors.

Required profile

• Hands‑on hardware expert with experience in GPU‑focused compute environments.
• Proven ability to lead end‑to‑end infrastructure projects from design to deployment.
• Strong operational mindset for maintaining high‑availability systems.
• Effective collaborator with site operations and vendor partners.
