HVAC Service Technician

About the role

Join SALT, a fast‑growing home‑services company in Austin, TX, as an HVAC Service Technician. You will work directly with the HVAC Service Manager and a team of installers, delivering high‑quality residential system installations and training apprentices for future leadership roles.

Key responsibilities

• Install replacement HVAC systems with a focus on quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
• Use floor savers, drop cloths, and the Installation Excellence Form to protect homes and prevent callbacks.
• Explain system operation to clients and ensure they are fully satisfied.
• Maintain a minimum production level and complete full system change‑outs in one day or less.
• Keep company trucks clean and presentable as mobile billboards.
• Train installation assistants, fill out paperwork promptly, and adhere to company ethics and safety rules.
• Perform physically demanding tasks such as climbing ladders, heavy lifting (50‑75 lb), and working in tight spaces.

Required profile

• 4‑6 years of HVAC service experience.
• High School Diploma and a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.

Required skills

• HVAC system installation and replacement.
• Operation of handheld power tools.
• Ladder and roof work.
• Heavy lifting (50‑75 lb).
• Reading and completing technical installation paperwork.
