HVAC Laboratory Technician (1st Shift)

About the role

This onsite position in Plano, TX supports our engineering team by setting up and operating HVAC test equipment for client projects. The role works a standard 5‑day week on the first shift, interacting directly with customers and engineers to ensure accurate test execution.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, calibrate, and maintain laboratory test equipment and fixtures according to engineering instructions.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and test datasheets.
• Perform HVAC performance tests, record data, and generate detailed test reports.
• Assist less‑experienced staff and guide them through test setups.
• Communicate with customers during setup and operation to clarify test methods and results.
• Recommend equipment improvements and solutions to observed test issues.
• Apply basic continuous‑improvement techniques to laboratory processes.

Required profile

• Vocational training or a 2‑year degree in HVAC.
• Universal EPA certification.
• Prior experience in HVAC installation, repair, or testing (preferred).
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to work the designated first‑shift schedule.
