Household Manager & Family Assistant – Washington, D.C.

About the role

We are recruiting experienced Household Managers and Family Assistants to support families in Washington, D.C. The role focuses on keeping homes organized, handling light home care, managing family logistics and providing meal support, with occasional childcare duties as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Daily home reset including light tidying, kitchen clean‑up and organization of common spaces.
• Manage household inventory, restock groceries, pantry staples and supplies.
• Coordinate with cleaners, vendors, deliveries and maintenance providers.
• Handle errands such as returns, post office, pharmacy pickups and online orders.
• Plan and prep simple, healthy meals, shop for groceries and organize the fridge/pantry.
• Pack snacks or lunches for school‑aged children and assist with family scheduling, school forms and travel preparation.
• Provide optional childcare support including school or activity pickups, date‑night assistance and engaging children in crafts or play.

Required profile

• Organized, dependable and proactive with the ability to anticipate family needs.
• Calm under pressure, adaptable to changing priorities and able to maintain a smoke‑free environment.
• Warm, respectful and capable of building trust with adults and children.
• Tech‑comfortable using tools such as Google Calendar, Amazon ordering and shared family apps.
• Reliable transportation, eligible to work in the U.S. and able to pass a background check.
• Vaccinated against flu and COVID‑19 if requested by the family.
